Today, Tuesday, the new Sudanese Minister of Defense Major General Yasin Ibrahim Yassin performed the constitutional oath before the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, in the presence of Judge Naamat Abdullah, Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdock, and the Secretary-General of the Council. The new Sudanese Minister of Defense said, in a press statement after taking the oath, that this assignment comes in succession to the martyr Lieutenant-General Jamal Al-Din Omar, pledging to work, in support and assistance, with his colleagues in the Council of Ministers, and unite in every effort, diligence, and sincerity, in exchange for the martyrs of the December Revolution and the Sudanese people, To achieve the goals of the constitutional document and reach the transitional period to its goal and objectives.

The Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan announced last month that the military component finally agreed to nominate Major General Pension Yassin Ibrahim Yassin to the post of Minister of Defense, and the nomination was handed over to Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, to be appointed and then approved by the Sovereign Council, in accordance with the constitutional document.
